We're using this platform to share a variety of topics: current happenings, coffee education, deep dives into the Generous business model, getting to know our team members, and more!
Today, we're shining a spotlight on our President and Co-founder, Ben Higgins. He took the time to share his thoughts and feelings about starting a business based on an innovative idea. Here’s what he had to say:
--
Generous was started in 2017 with the idea that we could do something radical for organizations fighting human injustice around the globe. Because our teams shared passion for business and people we decided to leverage both to create a business that represented more than financial success. As a result, the more we grow the more we give. We donate between 10-15% of revenue which is 100% of our operating profits to nonprofits doing great work for those who need it.
Personally Generous has been a gift that cannot be measured in currency. The stories that I personally get to be a part of and the people I get to meet helps me know that Generous is needed at this time. In a day and age where we argue about EVERYTHING there is still one topic that I have not heard someone fight about and that is Generosity. I think Generous Coffee Company sits at a unique place where we could possibly be the bridge that brings all people groups together for a common goal which is to give to those who need it most.
Generous only exists because of you, the consumer. We do not grow unless you buy. I guess that is how business works but with Generous the bigger we become the more we give. So tell you friends, family, businesses, churches, schools, local coffee shops, etc about Generous so that we can help spread the message of generosity to your community.
In a time where everything feels chaotic, maybe generosity can be the thing that brings us closer together again.
