At Generous Coffee Roastery, coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s a story, a process, and an experience meant to be shared. One of our favorite ways to invite people into that story is through our coffee cupping sessions, held right here at the roastery.

If you’ve never experienced a cupping before, think of it as a guided tasting that unlocks the nuances of each roast. These sessions are designed to slow things down and help participants engage their senses—smelling, slurping, and savoring different coffees side by side. It’s a moment to connect not only with the coffee itself, but also with the people and processes behind each cup.

“It’s always encouraging when people take the time to learn and explore coffee with us,” says Tyler Silveus, CEO of Generous Coffee. And that’s exactly what happens at every cupping. Whether you're a seasoned coffee enthusiast or just starting to explore beyond your daily brew, the experience offers something new to discover.

Isaac, our head roaster, compares the experience to a shared mindfulness practice. “Hosting a cupping feels almost like a group meditation in that we’re all taking a second to slow down and be present in an effort to describe the coffee,” he says. “It’s great to do a cupping with first timers because there’s a good chance you get to be a part of that moment where someone realizes just how good coffee can be.”

During each session, guests learn about the roasting process, how to identify flavor notes, and the factors that shape a coffee’s profile—from the origin of the beans to how they’re processed and roasted. It’s educational, but more than that, it’s an invitation to connect deeply with what’s in your cup.

We believe coffee is more than a product—it’s a vehicle for connection, conversation, and impact. Our cupping sessions are one way we live out that mission. If you're curious about the craft behind your morning brew or just want to explore new flavors in a welcoming space, we’d love to have you join us.
